Writing Goals

My friend Armand Rosamilia always sends out these inspiring blogs about his writing goals, and what he’s going to do over the next week, so I thought I’d emulate him. What? You don’t know Armand?  Go.  No really, I’ll wait.  Go buy Miami Spy Games: Russian Zombie Gun .  Do it NOW!  Seriously. Armand is a fantastic writer, and you won’t regret it.

Goals for the week of 1/9/2013:

  • Right now, What Zombies Fear is the top of my list.  I’m so close to finishing Declaration of War I can taste it!  This week my number one goal is to finish the writing on WZF 5.
  • The Colcoa Tailings is at a crossroads.  It’s about 50,000 words long, and I”m undecided as to whether I want to release it as two shorter, cheaper novels or one long LONG novel.  If I end now, it’ll be about 10% shorter than any of the WZF books.  If I keep going it’ll be about twice as long.  I’m open to suggestions in the comments.
  • The first Victor Tookes Adventures short is about 10,000 words from finished, but my brain has been so occupied with other things there just wasn’t room to focus on it.
  • The Zombie Preparedness Initiative needs a new article written.  I’m not sure what I’m going to write about this week, but I’d like to start posting an article every week there.
  • I still have four episodes to write of Survivalist of the Dead.  We’re not filming for a couple more weeks, so I have a little time on that one.  It’s the project I’m MOST excited about, but at this point that show is a hole at which I throw money.  There has to be money to toss, however, which brings me back to point number one, above.
  • Overall, my goal is to get 10,000 words on paper in the next 7 days.  That’s just about under 1500 words a day.  Totally do-able, and this blog is 400 words of today’s 1500!  Hooray for goal setting!

This blog is picking up steam, and I’m a fan of that!  But that means continuing to do what I’m doing, posting daily blogs that people find

interesting and entertaining.  This one seems not so entertaining, so here’s a squirrel reenactment of Qui Gon Jinn, Obi Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul’s epic battle.

Have a great day everyone!
