In the morning, I’m makin’ waffles!

Jack’s with me for the next few nights.  I love my weekends with him, we have so much fun!  Yesterday we worked on letters during the morning, played a little Lego Batman after lunch and then went out running errands.  When we got back to the house he was exhausted from running around Lowes, so we snuggled on the couch and watched an episode of Rescue Bots prior to bath time.

About 11:30 last night Jack woke me up.  He was crying because his throat hurt so bad.  He had a low fever, so I gave him some cold medicine and advil, and laid with him on his bad.  We snuggled for about two hours before he would let me leave.  (Or before he was asleep enough to sneak back to my own bed.)

The T-Rex from Imaginext

At 05:00 there was another knock on my door;  he said his ear hurt.  After some

further conversation he said his Imaginext T-Rex told him he wanted to eat him.

Luckily, I remembered that his Bumblebee was on the shelf right beside the nightmare inducing dinosaur.   An epic battle ensued.  It was tight for a few minutes, as they fought back and forth.  Both landed significant blows, but of course bumblebee prevailed.  Because bumblebee is a BAMF, and as Jack put it the T-Rex is just “A dumb dinosaur.”

Friday night was game night, and it went until almost 3:00 am.  I was up at 5:15 saturday morning.

It’s Sunday morning,  I’ve had about 6 hours of sleep since Thursday night, but I wouldn’t trade a 1:00 am transformer vs. Dinosaur battle for anything in the world.  Nor would I give up the peace of mind it gave my little boy to know that Bumblebee is watching over him in his dreams.

He was up again at 6:30 this morning having returned to his normal 5 year old ball of energy.  We had waffles and coffee.  Lots and lots of glorious coffee.
